Walk on by. Has the unusual avian visitor been overlooked? |
AN unusual ornamental water bird was today proving an attraction at the boating lake in Cleethorpes.
The Egyptian goose is an introduced species which is now expanding its range across the UK.
However, it is seldom seen in North East Lincolnshire, so this bird may be setting a precedent for more to follow in its webbed footsteps.
Because of its somewhat unusual markings, some are derisive about the bird, maintaining that it looks like a species that has been "designed by a committee".
Be that as it may, it was certainly proving to be a head-turner at lunchtime today.
What a curiosity! What could it be? |
