Sharon Wroot - planning oversight |
ONE of North East Lincolnshire's most senior officers will learn later today (Wednesday) whether she can retain the new building, decking and fencing she has had installed in her Grimsby garden.
Finance director Sharon Wroot has been so busy ensuring the council's financial affairs are in good order that the small matter of applying for planning permission slipped her mind.
Since completion of the makeover, she has submitted a retrospective application for consent, and this is due to be determined at today's meeting of the planning committee.
It is not yet known if she will tune in to the meeting, via the internet, to plead her case or whether she will trust to councillors to bail her out of a slightly embarrassing situation.
Fortunately for her, no neighbours have objected, and the planning case officer, Owen Troop, appears to be on her side.
In his report to the committee, he writes: "The proposal does not present any detrimental impacts in terms of design or residential amenity and is therefore recommended for approval."
