The North Promenade planters - a little bit of greenery works wonders
HATS off to North East Lincolnshire Council!
Just hours after it was pointed out that the empty planters on North Promenade looked a little dowdy, the authority snapped to.
By close of play yesterday, all four had received their first input of saplings and shrubs.
So far, there is no sign of any brightly coloured pansies, violas or cyclamens, but who's to know what the future might hold in store?
The planters have been installed at this location to prevent parking by cars whose occupants were shining the headlamp beams on to roosting shorebirds on the rock groyne, thereby preventing them from sleeping.
The Grimsby News says: Well done to NELC's plants and gardens team for their swift action. Now perhaps, they could even go one better by planting a palm tree - genuine not fake?
Only small now, but they'll grow |
Oops, there's a hole in the middle - perhaps for a palm tree! |
