VACANT CLEETHORPES NIGHTCLUB COULD REVERT BACK TO BEING A RESTAURANT

Change-of-use in prospect for 22-24 Market Street

A NEW  chapter could open in the New Year for a Cleethorpes commercial property.

Over the years, the building at 22 - 24 Market Street has accommodated various projects - for instance, until recently, Hype nightclub.

But, subject to planning permission being granted by North East Lincolnshire Council, it could, in 2021, revert back to its former use as a restaurant with an additional provision as a hot food takeaway.

A report, supporting the proposal,  states: "This would bring the currently vacant premises back into use to the benefit of the local amenities and the surrounding area."

It continues: "The application site is occupied by a pair of late 19th C / early 20th C buildings, finished in the late Tudor renaissance style, set within a terrace row.

"Before becoming a nightclub, the previous use of the property was as a ground-floor restaurant with first floor function room.

"The third floor is used as offices, and, in the past, has been used as a residential flat with its own access taken directly from Market Street.

"The building is currently laid vacant but is in good condition due to extensive renovation works carried out following the last change- of-use application.

"Recent use of the property gas been as a nightclub, a form of business which has been unable to operate as such for most of 2020."

The applicant is Hertford-based Mr Muhsin Tural.
