NO ROOM AT THE INN? A POIGNANT REMINDER OF THE SADDER SIDE OF CHRISTMAS

One man and his tent - here's hoping he's all right

Christmas is a time for jollity, love and companionship.

Or is it?

Perhaps not for the chap whose lonely home is in a patched-up tent under gloomy skies on wet grass on Cleethorpes foreshore.

Fortunately, North East Lincolnshire Council must be aware of the occupant's plight - their groundstaff have this week been busily eradicating much of the surrounding sea buckthorn.

The hope is that the man’s health and welfare are high on the authority’s priority list and that he has also come to the attention of the Haverstoe ward's three councillors,

No one wants to be cold, hungry and unloved - least of all at Christmas.

Home amidst the thorns. Okay, perhaps, in summer but not so hospitable in December
