IS EGYPTIAN GOOSE A WANDERER FROM THE QUEEN'S ESTATE AT SANDRINGHAM?

Time for a swim for the strangely-plumaged visitor

AS an unusual Egyptian goose continues to prove a star turn at the boating lake in Cleethorpes, a theory about its origins has emerged.

It is possible that the bird may also have a Royal admirer - none other than Her Majesty The Queen!

The species is a relative rarity in North East Lincolnshire, but it breeds on the edge of the Royal estate at Sandringham in Norfolk.

This Christmas, Her Majesty has decided to break with her usual practice by forsaking Sandringham in favour of  Windsor for her festive break.

With no Royalty to admire it, why should the goose tarry in Sandringham when it can fly to Cleethorpes instead?

Origin of the bird? The Queen's estate at Sandringham

The hungry waterfowl are certainly a hit with this little lad

This is tasty - the goose seems to appreciate the free meal
