SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE OVER FESTIVE HOLIDAY - COUNCIL PROVIDES UPDATE

                                                

Council buildings, such as the civic offices in Cleethorpes, remain closed not just over the seasonal holiday but at least as long as North East Lincolnshire remains in Tier 3 

NORTH East Lincolnshire Council has announced its opening times and operational plans for the festive period.

Some services are set to close over Christmas. Key services will continue throughout the festive period (normal working hours).

Council phone lines

The Council’s phone lines will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The phone lines will reopen on Tuesday 29 December from 08:30am to 5pm.

On New Year’s Eve, lines will close at the slightly earlier time of 3pm. The phone lines will reopen on Monday 4 January at 08:30am.

Council offices in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham

Council offices remain closed to the public throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes the Customer Access Point.

Waste collection & street cleaning

Waste and recycling collections change for the Christmas holiday. Check your collection dates at www.nelincs.gov.uk/bins. There are no collections on Christmas Day, the Boxing Day bank holiday and New Year’s Day.

Community Recycling Centres (the tip) are open every day (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day) from 8am to 6pm and 8am to 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Support for you and your family over the Christmas period

Packages of support are available to those most in need across North East Lincolnshire this Christmas.

With the funding ring-fenced to support with food and essential utility costs, it will allow the council to directly help the hardest-hit families and individuals over the winter period.

Test and trace support payment

People on low-incomes who have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test & Trace can apply to North East Lincolnshire Council for a payment of £500.

You are not eligible for this payment if you are unable to work because you are looking after children who have been sent home from school to self-isolate.
