PLANNING GREEN LIGHT FOR 32 HOLIDAY LODGES ON EDGE OF GRIMSBY-AREA VILLAGE

Green and leafy - where better to spend a relaxing holiday than Laceby?

PLANNING consent has been granted for 32 lodges - including one for a site manager - to be installed at a leafy site on the outskirts of Laceby.

The development, which will also accommodate a small shop,  will be adjacent to The Willows caravan park, off Barton Street.

The site. located off the A18 to the south west of the Laceby Manor Golf Club. is currently used to accommodate up to 30 touring caravans.

The project did not go before North East Lincolnshire's planning committee, with the decision being delegated to Engie case officer Richard Limmer.

In his report, he says: "The proposal will provide investment in the site to provide ancillary facilities to enhance the visitor attraction to the wider area.

"It is considered that the development will support a prosperous rural economy and growth by creating additional jobs and supporting a sustainable rural development. "

It is hoped that the site will be enhanced with planting of native trees and shrubs to benefit birds and other wildlife.

The parish council raised no objections.
