FEARS that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was jinxing the performances of Grimsby Town FC appear to be seriously misplaced.
THE PM's unusual 'relationship' with the club stemmed initially from photographs of him wearing a Mariners woolly hat on his morning jogs.
More recently, he was presented with a Town shirt by Grimsby MP Lia Nici and her Cleethorpes counterpart, Martin Vickers, a longstanding supporter and Blundell Park regular.
Sad to say, the 'Boris factor' was initially not helpful - the start to the season marred by poor results compounded by off-pitch distractions.
But wait! On Saturday, the Mariners won - a terrific result in the derby clash with Scunthorpe United.
One thing leads to another. Who knows what's next? A place for Boris in the boardroom?
