STRANGE CASE OF THE ZONKED-OUT CLEETHORPES CARRION CROWS

As if frozen in time - one of the two Cleethorpes crows

BIRDERS are baffled by the weekend  behaviour of two carrion crows in Cleethorpes.

They were spotted in a tree on the edge of the stretch of Buck Beck that runs alongside the former Pleasure Island theme park.

Both were in a seemingly catatonic trance with their bills locked open.

The only movement came from their flickering eyelids before first one, then the other, eventually came to.

Thereupon they started preening vigorously before flying off.

How come they were zonked out of their minds? Was it something in the food, the water or the air?

No one seems able to shed any light on mystery.

The two crows both remained in this state for at least 20 minutes.

As if hypnotised - the other bird in trance-like state
