ROOF SURVEY PROPOSED FOR SURELY GRIMSBY'S MOST CONTROVERSIAL BUILDING

A survey is to be undertaken - probably later this summer - to assess the state of the roof on Grimsby's dilapidated, but historically and architecturally important, ice factory. Experts will determine what needs to be done as part of a long-term project to repair the  Grade II listed building so that a new use can be found for it. The roof survey is expected to cost about £40,000, but if renovations proceed for the whole building, the bill could reach £11.5-million!
