WEATHER WORRIES PROMPT CHANGE OF VENUE FOR SATURDAY'S CLEETHORPES FESTIVE MARKET

A change of location has been announced for this week's  Holly Jolly Christmas Market in Cleethorpes. Because of concerns about adverse weather on Saturday, it will not be held in the Market Place but inside St Peter's church hall instead. Says Cllr Callum Procter, North East Lincolnshire Council's  portfolio holder for tourism: "Conditions for an outside market are really borderline, with increasing potential of rain, and winds strong enough to make standard gazebos unstable. We really needed to make the call a couple of days ahead to allow traders time to look at their stock levels and potentially alter what they want to display. I’ve supported the decision to move the market indoors to make sure traders and the entertainment can go ahead."
