METAL CLADDING EXPECTED TO HALT FURTHER TIMBER-ROT AT GREAT COATES VILLAGE HALL

Great Coates village hall

THE outside of the village hall in Great Coates is to undergo metal cladding treatment to protect the wooden timbers from rotting further.

The project has received the nod from North East Lincolnshire Council's heritage officer, Louise Jennings, who comments:  "Having made a site visit to the village hall I am aware of the issues with this building and the need to secure it for the future.

"It currently reads as a modern farm building which is appropriate for this area.

"The replacement of the current material with cladding will have a negligible effect on the building and the conservation area.

"I recommend that the current colour scheme is maintained rather than anthracite grey."
