NEW SUPER-SLIM BIN LORRIES TAKE TO THE STREETS OF NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE

Watch out for 10 new 26-tonne bin lorries in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year. These replace other trucks that were 11 years old and feeling their age. The newcomer vehicles, manufactured by Warwick Eagle at their factory in Warwick, have been variously decorated with photographs of Weelsby Woods, People's Park, Cleethorpes Beach, the River Freshney, the Lincolnshire Wolds and other scenic spots. North East Lincolnshire Council's fleet includes 29 waste and recycling collection vehicles, all used for domestic waste, recycling, garden waste, bring-to-sites and food waste. The newbies are said to be slimmer and  more manoevrable than the older models and thus better equipped for narrow urban roads and country lanes. NELC  has not stated what will happen to the replaced lorries.
