WHAT HAPPENED TO GRIMSBY TOWN MANAGER''S VIBRANT PORTRAIT OF STEVIE WONDER?

The soulful singer-songwriter - 70 today

MANY happy returns of today to a pop hero of Grimsby Town manager Ian Holloway.

Singer, songwriter and record producer Stevie Wonder celebrates his 70th birthday.

Back in March, Ollie - a keen amateur painter - completed this study of the rock legend - in the studio of his family home in Wiltshire.

Ollie's skills with the paintbrush are to be commended, but his portrait  is not entirely authentic - it is a copy of the painting on the sleeve of one Wonder's albums.

The manager donated the painting to Grimsby Town FC to be sold by raffle, but news is still awaited from the club on who won the study, how much was raised and what will happen to the proceeds.

While he awaits news on whether the rest of the 2019-20 football season will be completed, Ollie has not revealed if he has since completed any other paintings.

Incidentally, Steve Wonder shares his birthday with actor Harvey Keitel (81), actress Zoe Wanamaker, broadcasters Selina Scott (69) and Richard Madeley (74), former Conservative cabinet minister Andrea Leadsom (57) and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison (52).

Ollie's birthday is not until March,
