FRIED CHICKEN ON THE MENU - BUT ONLY IF YOU TAKE IT AWAY WITH YOU

MOST catering outlets on the trading estate  at the Kings Road end of Cleethorpes seafront were closed today, but KFC provided the exception. While its nearby competitors - McDonalds, Taco Bell and Starbucks have put their re-opening plans on hold, the KFC was  serving customers - but only drive-through, not within the restaurant itself. It seemed to be doing modest but not spectacular business. Whether, it was worth opening, only the end-of-day takings will reveal. Elsewhere, despite the welcome being offered to trippers by North East Lincolnshire Council, the resort did not seem especially busy. With some promenade sites closed, visitors were asked to park their cars elsewhere, for instance adjacent to the boating lake.
