AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST - THE CLEETHORPES SCHOOL THAT IS NO MORE

And it all comes tumbling down - the Thrunscoe site off Highgate in Cleethorpes

IT'S the end of the road for the former Thrunscoe school and education centre in Cleethorpes.

Contractors have spent the past fortnight  demolishing the old buildings to prepare the site for a new housing development.

Where possible, anything of value - such as the slates from the rooves - has been salvaged.

Special care has been taken to ensure that any hazardous materials, such as asbestos, are disposed of with care.

All being well, all the buildings will have been demolished by mid-month, with the mountains of rubble removed.

The site has planning permission for 42 semi-detached houses and four garages.

The consent was was secured in August last year by Laceby-based consortium Land Developers (Lincs) Ltd, but it is not known if they might since have sold on the site to a housebuilder.

It's all looking rather sorrowful - but that's progress

Those roof slates are  definitely worth saving

Job done - now a new use can be found for them

Site safety has been paramount from Day One

This way to the polling station! How things once were
