The song thrush has long disappeared as a regular visitor to most gardens in Grimsby and Cleethorpes. It is now extinct as a breeding species in many parts of the borough. But it is maintaining a precarious presence in suitably green and leafy habitats such as Cleethorpes country park and the foreshore nature reserve. This bird was pictured earlier today as it foraged for worms and insects among the marsh orchids, buttercups and other wildflowers now in their early-summer splendour on the nature reserve.
