CAFE PLAN FOR FORMER IMMINGHAM OFFICE GIVEN THE PLANNING THUMBS-UP

A NEW use beckons for a long-empty office in Immingham.

The premises at 22 - 23 Queens Road have been vacant since October 2014, but that is set to change this summer.

An application by Dave Mason to change the use to a cafe with a hot food takeaway facility  has been given the green light by North East Lincolnshire Council.

The site is part of an area which is  part-residential and  part-industrial.

In its assessment, NELC says: "The venture will make  a positive contribution to the employment area by supplying services to the surrounding employment uses."

A flue will be installed to the rear.

Agent for the project is Murray Watts, of Pagehall Close, Grimsby.

It is not yet known what the cafe will be called, nor if there is a target date for its opening.

It is understood the property belongs to a Market Rasen business, Daily Shipping Services Ltd.
