CRAFT BEERS PLAN FOR PROPOSED NEW CLEETHORPES SEAFRONT BAR

A NEW bar could be on the cards for Cleethorpes seafront.

Local man Rob Bywater has submitted an application to change the use of 26 Alexandra Road which is currently a cafe.

If planning consent is granted, his plan is to specialise in "craft beers and locally sourced drinks".

It would be relatively bijou,  accommodating, at maximum, no more than  about 25 customers, with opening hours no earlier than 11am and no later than 11pm.

The application seeks change of use only and does not involve any alterations to the interior or exterior of the building.

The only alterations proposed would be decoration of the interior and installation of appropriate equipment and furniture such as fridges, beer pumps, tables and chairs.

A decision  by council planners is likely to be made in summer.

Mr Bywater has not yet indicated what name he might give to the proposed bar assuming consent is granted.

* In September last year, planning consent was granted for a new bar-restaurant  along the same stretch of road at 41 Alexandra Road. See: https://bit.ly/2WCgiSV
