GOOD news for North East Lincolnshire residents who use the on-demand Phone ‘n’ Ride service.
Following lockdown suspension, the plan is for it to be back up and running from Monday June 1.
This will be for passengers making essential journeys such as travelling to and from work, attending medical appointments and essential shopping - but not leisure trips.
Cllr Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, insists that safety will be "top priority" on the service which is a joint venture between North East Lincolnshire Council, Engie and delivery partner Stagecoach East Midlands.
Says he: "Passengers will see a range of new safety measures for passengers and drivers, including enhanced cleaning routines and social distancing measures, all in line with Government guidelines.
“The service will continue to accept new passengers to ensure that residents are able to get to and from work, attend medical appointments and shop for essentials.”
