GOLDEN DAYS BECKON FOR AMBITIOUS OWNERS OF CLEETHORPES SEAFRONT BAR-RESTAURANT

It's full steam ahead for the revamp at Copper

A popular Cleethorpes bar-restaurant is undergoing a major facelift during lockdown.

Copper, on Alexandra Road, is being transformed with an expansion and refit inside complemented by a new façade which reflects its Victorian heritage.

Partners Richard Bride and Brett Smith  are doubling the size of Copper and plan, Covid permitting, to be ready for opening by the end of May.

Its clientele consists mostly of the over 30s with Meze dining and cocktails.

Upstairs the five flats, which will be available for long-term local lets, include a rooftop penthouse-style apartment with views over the sea.

"We very much intend to continue with the same themes and styles," says Richard  who also runs the Society café-bar on High Street.

The works are being part funded by  a Cleethorpes Townscape Heritage grant.

Property owners along Sea View Street and Alexandra Road can find out more about the grant scheme by going to the website www.investnel.co.uk/developments/cleethorpes-regeneration-programme/townscape-heritage-project/
