AMERICAN COMPANY IN SWOOP FOR DRINKS CHAIN WITH POPULAR PUBS IN CLEETHORPES

Trawlerman - popular with residents and holidaymakers

AN uncertain future beckons for three Cleethorpes hostelries within the portfolio of brewery and pub chain Marstons.

The Wolverhampton-based company is the takeover target of an American company Platinum Equity.

So far, Marstons is resisting, claiming that the 105 per share offer undervalues the company which is confident of bouncing back strongly after lockdown.

The three Marstons drinkeries in Cleethorpes are:

* The Pear Tree

* Trawlerman

*  Smugglers

The American company is pondering whether to come back with a higher offer.

The Pear Tree - attractive building within a tree-bordered setting

Smugglers - located on the seafront

 The Trawlerman - attractive beer garden
