The Knoll on Armistice Day - not a poppy in sight |
HOW disappointing that the Armed Forces champions who occupy The Knoll in Cleethorpes have again decided against staging a display of Remembrance poppies on the lawn outside the building.
They have plenty of money from the grants cascading into their coffers from sources such as North East Lincolnshire Council and the Ministry of Defence.
Why could a local artist or artists not have been commissioned to come up with a really creative display such as those seen in many others parts of the UK?
At the very least, flowers or shrubs could be planted to give a colourful frontage to such a fine building.
It is such a shame when precious opportunities are missed.
