FAILURE OF ACORN CROP ON CONTINENT TRIGGERS INFLUX OF JAYS INTO BRITAIN
This jay was spotted jst outside Cleethorpes Golf Course near the back of the Premier Inn last week. There has been an influx of birds from the Continent because of the shortage there of its favourite food - acorns. More may arrive in the coming weeks, possibly visiting local gardens for scraps, especially as the acorn crop has also failed in many parts of Britain for reasons unknown.
