GRIMSBY'S LOST FISHERMEN WILL BE REMEMBERED AT SPECIAL SERVICE

The Ross Tiger will provide the backdrop to a memorial service for Grimsby’s lost fishermen at 11am  on Sunday 28 November. The 20-minute service, in conjunction with Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre, will allow guests to gather in the open air and pay their respects to those who lost their lives in what the Fishermen’s Mission regard as the most dangerous peacetime occupation in the UK. Says Grimsby’s Port Missioner, Superintendent Suesan Brown: "We are inviting members of the public to join us in fellowship to honour the memory of those who paid the ultimate price to feed our nation, as well as ensuring the ongoing support of their families." The service, usually held annually within Grimsby Minster, is to be held outside the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre as a Covid precaution.
