Planners have approved a proposal to convert an empty ground-floor premises - formerly The Motability Shop - at 35 Grimsby Road to a catering use.
As part of the same project, the property (which is near the Tesco Express store) will be extended, and the first-floor will be converted from offices to a residential flat.
Out of hours, roller shutters will be installed at the front and a ventilation/extraction flue to the rear.
For the benefit of neighbours, it is understood there will also be soundproofing measures.
Permitted opening hours will be 8am to 11.30pm seven days a week.
The approval note from the planning case officer states: "The proposed takeaway would by its nature be an evening and night use and could create noise and nuisance.
"The property, however, is located within a local centre where such activity is expected and fronts Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, which has significant traffic noise and activity throughout the day and even during the evening.
"This application would bring a vacant property back into viable use, both at ground floor as a takeaway and at first floor with a residential flat.
"Such uses would, subject to conditions, be appropriate for a local centre and would maintain residential amenity, highway safety and reasonable parking levels in the area."
The applicant is Mr S. Lawlor of Waltham.
