A CONTROVERSIAL proposal to convert the former Conservative club on Grimsby's Bargate to a small supermarket - possibly a Co-op - has been refused.
The decision was made by councillors at Wednesday's meeting of North East Lincolnshire Council's planning committee.
Members took the view that the proposed development "would result in a severe adverse impact on highway
safety, road and pedestrian safety, by reason of conflicting traffic movements in
an already complex network of junctions".
A bit of common sense at last from NELC who would have thought ???
