They were unloved so council takes charge of two roof-damaged chalets opposite Cleethorpes saltmarsh

Hole in the roof - one of the semi-derelict chalets

LANDLORD North  East Lincolnshire Council has taken charge of two fast-deteriorating Cleethorpes chalets.

Rather than see them fall into further disrepair, the authority has swooped - with the probable intention of either removing or renovating them.

In recent decades, many of the 56 chalets on this strip of coastline have been vandalised or set alight.

Few of them are in regular use.

Meanwhile,  two other chalets are on the market - one privately and the other through Crofts estate agents.

Signage declares that the premises have been re-entered by the landlord and the lease forfeited
