Just like old times! Grimsby Town Hall will play host to General Election counts and result declarations

Grimsby Town Hall after dark - the lights will stay on tonight almost until dawn has broken

GRIMSBY Town Hall will be location for tonight's General Election vote-counts.

In recent years, Grimsby Auditorium has been favoured, but it has been  ruled out this year because its internal layout is insufficiently flexible to accommodate not one but two counts - those for Grimsby & Cleethorpes and Brigg and Immingham.

What is more to the point, the Auditorium had been pre-booked for a production of Sister Act that has been running all this week including tonight.

The polling booths close at 10pm today, and counting is not expected to start until soon after midnight when all the votes have arrived.

The declarations for both constituencies are expected separately between 3pm and 3.30pm.
