Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Hats off to the team at Waterstone's book shop for taking stand space at the Armed Forces weekend. They were hopeful of selling plenty of stock from the range of titles published to coincide with this year's 50th anniversary of the D-Day landings, but most visitors to the event showed little interest in browsing - let alone buying. It is not known if Waterstone's will be back for next years, but one of the staff said it was "not very likely".
I didn't see a stall from Waterstones, I wish I had, I would have bought a book! I wonder how many others didn't see the stall?
