North Promenade slipway set to remain out of bounds for many weeks in wake of sea and wind clobbering

Access to the water for pleasure craft such as small boats and jet-skis could be out of bounds for some while adjacent to the rock armour whale's tail off North Promenade, Cleethorpes. As these photographs show, last Sunday's powerful waves have caused significant damage to the concrete slipway. Repairs will be expensive, and it is not known whether the Environment Agency or North East Lincolnshire Council will foot the bill for repairs. An announcement is expected shortly from NELC.
