Guide price in excess of £2-million as portfolio of five Grimsby-area properties put up for auction

Formerly a care home, Westbury House is now converted to apartments

A HUGE chunk of Grimsby and Cleethorpes real estate could change hands early this week.

The properties up for grabs are:

* Hainton House, Hainton Square, Grimsby

* Westbury House, Queen’s Parade, Grimsby

* 26, 28, 30 Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes

They are due to under the hammer collectively as a single lot (number 31) at an auction in London on the morning of Tuesday January 23.

The figure achieved will give an important indicator on the confidence of investors in Grimsby  - both as it is now and its potential for the future.

For a buyer, there is a prospect of almost £200,000 in annual rental income -  more if currently vacant  units within the properties can be let.

Specialist auction house Allsop say they are looking to achieve a hammer price in excess of £2-million for the whole portfolio.

Despite its ongoing activity in the property market of recent months, North East Lincolnshire Council is not expected to be among the bidders on Tuesday.

The identity of the prospective vendor is not known.

Accommodated within Hainton House are four shop units
