Daubing it with green and purple paint has made historic Weelsby Woods lion look ridiculous

 

Some would call it an amusing prank, others would call it mindless vandalism. This photograph of the sandstone lion at the entrance to Weelsby Woods has been posted on social media by Friends of the popular park and woodland. It may require specialist work to remove the paint. Alas, it will be another cost North East Lincolnshire Council could well do without.
