Via CP Media, an estate agent has paid for this promotional space on a roundabout in Harrogate |
THE firm that has won a potentially lucrative contract to sell sponsorship space on roundabouts in North East Lincolnshire can be named.
It is Halifax-based CP Media Ltd which has lined up a five-year deal with the authority.
The specialist firm has also been given the green light to sell sponsorship/advertising space on landscaped areas, village signs, town boundary signs and other assets owned by the authority.
Excluded, however, is signage in bus shelters for which another firm holds the rights.
It is understood that, under the terms of the deal, CP Media will take a chunky cut from whatever income it is available to generate from selling space to the likes of deep-pocketed car dealerships, estate agents, housebuilders and others, even football clubs and newspaper companies.
But if the arrangement works well, there could also be big bucks for NELC, revenue which, fingers crossed, might help to keep down future council tax rises.
Signage on roundabouts is seen by many organisations as an effect way to raise their profile.
The firm already has arrangements with other local authorities including those in Kirklees, Southampton, Croydon, York, Durham, Southampton, Staffordshire, Bracknell Forest, Dundee and Solihull, Brent, Barnsley, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead.
This topical sign in Brixton, South London, was facilitated by CP Media |
