THOSE who remember him will be saddened by the death of comedy ventriloquist Mike Parkin who, particularly in the 1970s, kept audiences highly amused at events in and around Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Very much part of the musical hall tradition, he and wife Ann, who was part of the act, had two notably popular characters - one a singing cowboy and the other a set-in-his-ways grandad.
Mike died, aged 85, on January 17 at his home in Barton-on-Humber with his son, Wayne, at his side.
The funeral will be held in Scunthorpe on Tuesday.
