COUNCIL POISED TO INTRODUCE LICENCE SCHEME FOR SKIPS PLACED ON HIGHWAYS

Charging could be introduced for skips placed on highways

A CHARGE could soon be imposed on householders or traders seeking to place  skips on highways in North East Lincolnshire.

The council believes that introduction of a 'streetworks licence' could help to boost its coffers with a new revenue stream.

It is likely the scheme will also also to be extended to scaffolding and portable traffic signals.

It is not not known how high the charge might be, but NELC's cabinet has authorised officers to come up with a schedule.
