An unsung wildlife feature of Cleethorpes and Humberston is the huge and continuing migration of swallows along the coast during the latter part of July through to mid-October. Many thousands pass overhead non-stop but some, such as this young bird, pause to admire the scenery. Within moments, it was back in the air on its 9-000-mile flight to southern Africa where it will spend winter before returning to Britain in spring.
