Cllr Fenty - pandemic has impacted market trade

GRIMSBY'S  Top Town Market has temporarily reduced its opening hours.

The market continued to operate throughout the lockdown, offering essential items such as meat, vegetables, and fruit, with strict measures in place to ensure the safety of traders and customers.

But, as from this week, it will be closed on Mondays and Wednesdays until further notice.

This is reportedly  in response to requests from traders.

Revised opening hours are  between 9am and 4pm onTuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The food hall has also changed its open hours.

From today, the food hall is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

Says North East Lincolnshire Council's deputy leader, Cllr John Fenty: “We recognise that the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on businesses and their customers."

“We will continue to review this  as customer footfall levels change.”

The market is managed by North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner, Engie.
