There are reckoned to be only about 200 Mini Mokes left in the country so this one parked on seafront in Cleethorpes was a bit of a rarity. Despite their small size, they are big in personality and were popular in the late 1960s, especially in trendy seaside resorts and on the Kings Road in Chelsea. But they weren't very practical in the English weather - nor profitable for dealers to sell - and their success soon faded, at least in the UK. It is understood that this particular one was built in about 1988 and imported from Portugal. The identity of the owner is not known. |
