PART of the back garden of a house in a leafy part of Humberston is to be given over to three new homes.
Outline planning permission has been granted for the development at 153 Humberston Avenue.
The proposal was opposed both by the parish council and neighbours who feel the 'backland' development will spoil the character of the area.
However, North East Lincolnshire Council planners approved the application, noting that a precedent for such projects had already been set - without unduly negative impact - elsewhere on Humberston Avenue.
The successful applicant is an esteemed local doctor.
