RESIDENTS OUTRAGED BY PLAN FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 64 HOMES IN WALTHAM

The proposed development will consist of various property styles including bungalows

A STORM has blown up over plans to build more houses in Waltham.

Neighbours have submitted dozens of protests over a proposal by Snape Properties Ltd to create a 64-home estate on an arable field off Torbay Drive in the village.

They believe the development will shatter the peace and quiet of what is currently a cul-de-sac.

There are also concerns about a potentially adverse impact on birds and other wildlife.

However, an ecologist working for Snape, says the scheme will incorporate a pond and other landscaping which will thereby enhance biodiversity.

The application is now under consideration by senior planner Cheryl Jarvis of North East Lincolnshire Council.

* Elsewhere, Mark Barford has applied to erect seven dwellings on land to the south of The Georgian House, off Main Road, Barnoldby-le-Beck.
