The barns - conversion scheme given the planning green light

CHANGE of use is in prospect for redundant outbuildings at an historic Humberston property.

North East Lincolnshire Council planners have approved an applications for the barns at Manor House, off  Tetney Road, to be converted  into two  dwellings and six  holiday lets.

The project will  also involve  demolition of a modern farm building, provision of a new parking area  and landscaping.

Also proposed are various measures to encourage birds - for instance, the provision of new or replacement nesting facilities for swallows and  house sparrows and roosting habitat for barn owls.

In addition, six bat boxes will be installed.

The success applicant is the owner of Manor House, Mr J. Clark.

Swallows such as this one will be encouraged to nest
