GRIMSBY FIREFIGHTERS TO THE RESCUE OF DEER TRAPPED IN STREET RAILINGS

A DEER that became trapped between railings on a Grimsby Street was released thanks to smart work by Humberside Fire and Rescue.

The animal was in a distressed state when the alarm was raised not long after daybreak on Wednesday.

But, using battery-powered spreaders, the team were able to release the deer from the railings located on Tintern Walk.

The creature appeared to be slightly injured, but it was fit enough to run off to the nearest fields.

Fire on second floor of derelict flats. One hosereel, two breating apparatus in use.

Smouldering rubbish from previous fire within derelict building. One hose reel in use.

Seed Close Lane, Laceby.
Microwave fire. Bucket of water used to extinguish fire prior to fire service arrival.  Fire damage to microwave. No fire or smoke damage to building. Smoke alarms activated. Advice given.

Barnetby Le Wold.
Bonfire. One hose reel in use.

Sherwood Road, Grimsby.
Settee blaze inside property. Occupier attempted to extinguish fire using water. One hose reel in use by Fire Service fully to extinguish fire. Light smoke logging to property, property ventilated with fresh air.

Loft Avenue, Grimsby.
Fire involving residual fat inside grill oven. Fire out on arrival, extinguished by occupier using one dry powder extinguisher. Fire service removed pan to air and ventilated property by opening windows. Smoke detector not activated.

Brereton Avenue, Cleethorpes.
Two trees on fire. Two hose reels in use.

Washdyke Lane, Immingham.
Rubbish on fire on second floor of derelict block of flats. Two hose reels, two breathing appatus, one main jet and short extension ladder in use.

Park Close, Immingham.
Fire involving first- and second-floor maisonettes within  block of derelict flats. Two hosereels, four breathing apparatus, one main jet, working-at-heights gear and 105-metre ladder in use.

The Oval, Grimsby.
Gas leak from faulty boiler. Fire service isolated gas supply. Incident left with gas engineer.
