WILDLIFE TRUST'S APPEAL FOR SEASONAL VOLUNTEER SEAL WARDENS AT DONNA NOOK

Seals like this one need to be supervised to ensure they come to no harm

WANTED - volunteer seal wardens for next winter.

Through its quarterly magazine, Lapwings, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has this month put out an appeal for volunteer wardens to oversee the welfare of grey seals during the next pupping season at Donna Nook.

This is one of the highlights of Lincolnshire's wildlife year and attracts visitors not just from the Grimsby area but from all over the world.

The spectacular event puts pressure on the LWT's resources, so it is keen to expand its seal volunteer team for the 2020 season from October to the end of December.

Duties will include:

* Patrolling the viewing area and enforcing the visitor guidelines

* Answering visitors' questions informatively and accurately

* Helping to run the small seasonal gift shop

Despite the temptation, pups don't need to have their tummies  tickled by humans
