DEMOLITION FIRM'S APPEAL TO RESIDENTS OVER VANDALISM AT FORMER EDUCATION CENTRE

The soon-to-be-demolished Thrunscoe Centre in Cleethorpes

HOUSEHOLDERS living near the former Thrunscoe education centre in Cleethorpes have been urged to report any incidents of vandalism.

The property, located off Highgate, has been earmarked for demolition this spring to make may for private housing.

But since being closed a couple of years ago, much damage has already been done to the fabric of the premises by site intruders who often climb on to the roof.

In response to this activity, the Lincoln-based demolition firm, UDCS Ltd, has circulated a letter to residents living both in front of and at the rear of the building.

Written by a director, Matthew Browne, it  states: "High volumes of vandalism have recently taken place at the Thrunscoe centre.

"We wish respectfully to remind all residents local to the centre that, as a demolition site, this can be extremely dangerous  to unauthorised personnel.

"We ask that you report any suspicious activity outside normal working hours either to the police or to ourselves."
