| A very happy lady - Lia Nici joins the Government |
AFTER spending her entire parliamentary career praising Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Great Grimsby MP Lia Nici has now received her reward - and a rich one it is, too.
She was today named under-secretary of state at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
It is a fantastic boost for Ms Nici, though some may see her promotion as reflecting favouritism and thus a further sign of the low moral standards that have blighted Mr Johnson's administration
As of this evening, Ms Nici had not posted comment in any of her social media accounts.
Her appointment to the Government will bring a sharp rise in income - a further £31,660 on top of the £81,932 she already receives as an MP.
Her immediate boss will be Secretary of State Greg Clark who has taken over from Michael Gove who was sacked by the Prime Minister on Wednesday.
It is not known whether the post will allow her to influence North East Lincolnshire Council's three bids to secure £60-million levelling-up funds from Whitehall.
