ALARM bells are jangling over a plan for  construction of  37 homes on land south of the Diana Princess of Wales, Hospital.

Some residents of Scartho are expressing concerns about potential traffic and infrstructure pressutres shoud the project go-ahead.

Opposition has also been sounded by Alan Nicholson, chairman of Cleethorpes and District Civic Society who says: "We are extremely concerned about the increase in traffic this development will create, accessing Scartho Road, already a traffic bottleneck at certain times of the day.

"Added to that is the extra burden to the sewage and drainage systems.

"There is limited access to public transport and cycling routes, so we oppose this application."

Architects for the scheme, submitted by E5 Living (Grimsby) Ltd are Hodsons of Yarra Road, Cleethorpes.

North East Lincolnshire Council says the application is "pending consideration".
