Lia Nici - PM undergoing 'trial by media'

MPs Lia Nici (Great Grimsby) and Martin Vickers are tonight keeping their mobile phones charged to the max as they each await a call from the Prime Minister.

For their loyalty (or sycophancy, depending on your perspective), the duo are being lined up for one or other of the many Government posts that have become vacant as of today's batch of resignations.

Both are likely to be high in Boris Johnson's promotion pecking order because of their unwavering support for him in his troubled circumstances.

Ms Nici was today telling broadcasters that The PM was being subjected to "trial by media".

They may even be offered a choice of positions.

But the two local MPs have a calculation to make. 

Accepting offers could provide them with invaluable political experience and a significant boost in income, but it may not endear them to voters at the next General Election (whether it come sooner or later).

This evening, both are staying tight-lipped about those ministerial slots which might carry most appeal to them.
