Height of three Lombardy poplar trees likely to be much reduced |
AN appointment with the tree surgeon beckons for three magnificent Lombardy poplar trees on the Humberson Fitties chalet park.
The applicant had wanted them felled for fear that one or more could cause damage if brought down by high winds.
However, North East Lincolnshire Council has ruled that they should only be chopped to a height of seven metres - about 50 per cent - because of their importance to the conservation area.
Other proposed tree work in the same garden - Number 150 - are likely to include the felling of four beech trees and a birch, plus some pruning of other specimens.
Fears that trees may pose risk to other chalets if they were to fall |
